My name is Simon Zacharia and I am the leader of the group. I am 38 and am married with two children. 9 years ago, I was going through a difficult time as a drummer as I didn’t know how my drumming fitted into my calling into the worship ministry. however, I was introduced to Psalm drummers by Callum Reece, a profession drummer, at a Christian conference. I began to investigate and look into what Psalm Drummers was and realised that God was calling me to not only get involved but to start a group. I started the group in January 2002 in which we have seen God move in the most amazing ways. we feel humbled and priviledged to be able to serve and use the gifts he has given us for his glory. If you feel that God might be calling you to use the drums and percussion to glorify him, (even if you are not a percussionist or drummer) then please come and join us, you will be most welcomed, Simon

My name is Paul Langley and I have been a member of the group since its early days. I live in Nottingham and work as a freelance youth work trainer and consultant. I sometimes lead worship and preach at my local church, St Andrews. I’m passionate about exploring culturally relevant ways of being church. Using drumming in worship and prayer has opened up a whole new dimension to my spiritual life and I am continually amazed at how God uses it to draw us closer to his heart beat.

Hello, I’m Lee, I joined Psalm Drummers in 2005 and realised God was doing something special with the group and the people already in the group and wanted to be part of it. being a complete novice I was made to feel incredibly welcomed and have enjoyed all the meetings and special events since. I’m Married to Helen and we have a three and half year old Joshua who is our joy. We worship as a family at St Mark’s Woodthorpe in Nottingham, a lively church where we married and I play drums regularly with the band, Lee.

My name is Mark Lloyd and I have been a member of the group since the begining of 2007.I live in Nottingham, and work as a Procurement professional for the Police. I am the Worship Leader at my local church, Daybrook Baptist where I am passionate about exploring culturally relevant ways of being church and creating links to local communities. Using drumming I have developed links with local schools and youth groups as a church based community project which has opened up a whole new dimension for God to use me and draw others to show that 'God is good, and we're OK'

My name is Malise Hulme and I've been a member of the group since February 2008. After experiencing the power of prayer drumming with Paul on a retreat weekend, I knew this was something I needed to do more of, so I started coming to meetings. I've never experienced anything like the power and the Spirit which I find present in the drumming that we do together and I do alone and especially enjoy bringing that love and worship to people outside of the group.

I started drumming at school (Christ the King in Arnold) and was in a band that played round Nottingham in the early '90s with friends I'd grown up with at The Good Shepherd church. After a number of years away from performing and from the church I started attending again at Holy Trinity Leicester with my then future wife, Susannah. Now we both live in Nottingham and belong to St Mark's Woodthorpe where I play in the worship band. I enjoy helping people to worship God through music. What began as a hobby has now become part of my serving Jesus and I think drumming / percussion is as important as playing any other instrument in the church. Tony Estella
